OUR COMPANY

We remain focused on our core craft of woodworking, collaborating with other highly skilled trades who focus on their core crafts to ensure optimal results for every project.

Foley Waite was founded in 1978 by J. Kelly Conklin, Managing Partner of the firm, and Kathryn Shackner, both of whom have an in-depth education in woodworking and furniture design. Since its inception, the firm has been providing superior architectural woodworking, handling projects that require a high level of technical and engineering expertise with know-how and professionalism.

An ongoing commitment to quality.

The firm supports its unwavering commitment to quality control by performing all drafting, fabrication, finishing, pre-assembly, and packing from its company-owned Kenilworth, NJ, facility, a mere 17 miles from Manhattan. Foley Waite has provided woodworking services for some of the most prestigious homes and apartments in New York City, New Jersey, and the surrounding area. The firm’s early background in doing commercial projects for large corporations prepared it well for handling the high-pressure deadlines and logistical challenges of the high end residential projects that are now its main focus.

Highly experienced staff.

The firm’s leadership has been successful in building and retaining a staff that understands its exacting processes and takes pride in delivering a superior finished product. Many members of the firm’s 13-person, highly experienced team have been with the firm for decades. Experts in all phases of woodworking engineering, design, manufacturing, finishing, and installation, they pay strict attention to detail and deliver exactly what is needed, with no surprises.

Why us?

Successfully serving some of the most demanding contractors, architects, and
property owners for more than four decades, Foley Waite has developed a proven process that ensures a smooth facilitation and completion of every project it undertakes. The firm interfaces closely with contractors, architects, and project managers to identify and resolve issues and concerns before they become problems.

In addition to delivering the highest quality architectural woodworking, several other factors make Foley Waite the right choice:

  • Financial stability and solid, long-term relationships with vendors—essentials in producing a highly labor and material-intensive product.
  • Comprehensive, itemized, no-surprise proposals that minimize change-orders by itemizing all aspects of the job, including material tallies and labor requirements.
  • Detailed drawings, done in-house, that reflect the designer’s intention.
  • Professional movers who transport larger jobs, expertly wrapping each item, and clearly marking what it is and where it goes.

When you choose Foley Waite, you choose a firm that has engineered, fabricated and finished its work to the highest standards for generations. We remain focused on our core craft of woodworking, collaborating with other highly skilled trades who focus on their core crafts to ensure optimal results for every project.
